The Corporation and the Environmental Protection Authority Signed a Memorandum of Understanding

The Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation (ECC) and the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE) Environmental Protection Authority have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that enables the promotion of environmental protection and sustainable green development across the Corporation’s construction projects and industrial operations.

The MoU was signed by Engineer Yonas Ayalew, Chief Executive Officer of the Corporation, and Engineer Lelise Neme, Director General of the FDRE Environmental Protection Authority.

During the event, members of the Authority’s management team visited the Corporation’s industrial zone located in Kality and expressed their appreciation for the reforms and excellence strategies being implemented by the Corporation.

ECC Participates in FACIM 2025

The Rwanda Branch Office of the Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation (ECC) is taking part in the 60th Maputo International Trade Fair (FACIM) 2025.

At the trade fair, ECC showcases the multifaceted construction endeavors, real estate development activities, input manufacturing industries, project management services, the digitalization reform program as well as joint ventures of the corporation.

The trade fair, which commenced at Ricatla Exhibition Ground, Mozambique on 25 Aug. 2025, will remain open until 31 Aug 2025. It brought about over 3,000 exhibitors from 27 countries worldwide.

Corporation Reports Outstanding Performance in the Budget Year

The Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation (ECWC) has announced that it achieved higher than expected performance during the 2017 Ethiopian fiscal year, surpassing both previous years’ results and its planned targets. This was disclosed during the annual performance review meeting presented to Ethiopian Investment Holdings.

During the review, Mr. Habtamu Hailemichael, Deputy CEO for Portfolio Management at Ethiopian Investment Holdings, stated that the Corporation is currently rated at a “green level” overall.

He further explained that, despite significant achievements including the completion of 34 out of 71 ongoing projects worth 65.4 billion birr and the securing of 28 new projects the Corporation must continue to work diligently to realize its vision of becoming one of the top three construction companies in Africa.
