
The Corporation's Feeding Center Recognized

The "Tesfa Berhan Feeding Center," established by the Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation in line with its social responsibility, has been recognized by the Addis Ababa City Administration Feeding Agency.
The food service center, established by the corporation in Addis Ababa, Yeka Sub-city Woreda 9, where it is located, is providing food assistance to 200 vulnerable people.
The corporation's leaders and employees have been providing food service to the vulnerable people since June 2021 through contributions from their salaries, in addition to providing financial gifts during holidays.
CRB Board Members Visit ECC

A delegation from the Contractors Registration Board (CRB) of the United Republic of Tanzania has visited the Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation (ECC).
During their visit, the delegates toured the Construction Professionals Development Institute, the Project Management Center of Excellence, and various construction manufacturing facilities.
The visitors expressed their appreciation for the warm welcome and the valuable experience-sharing sessions provided by ECC

ECC Graduates Second Cohort of Future Project Managers

The Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation (ECC) has successfully graduated 26 future project managers as part of its effort to overcome shortages of construction project management professionals.
This program is a key element of the Corporation’s ongoing efforts to strengthen project execution through professional development.
During the graduation ceremony, Her Excellency Engineer Aisha Mohammed, chairperson of the Corporation’s Board of Management and Minister of Defense delivered a keynote address.
She emphasized that ECC’s establishment of a dedicated project management training center and its commitment to nurturing skilled professionals represents a strategic move toward enhancing project quality and efficiency. More importantly, she noted, it sets the foundation for Ethiopia to become globally competitive in the construction sector.
Engineer Yonas Ayalew, CEO of ECC, highlighted that the 26 graduates were carefully selected following their successful completion of a six-month blended training program. The program, conducted by the Corporation’s Construction Professionals Development Institute, included both academic and field-based components. The training was divided into 27 modules, with 30 percent focused on theoretical instruction and 70 percent on hands-on, practical experience.
According to the CEO, these graduates are now prepared to take on active roles in the management of various construction projects within the Corporation. Their contributions are expected to directly support ECC’s global competitiveness and performance excellence.
The graduation event was attended by members of ECC’s Board of Management, government officials, leaders of ECC, representatives from the Corporation’s Basic Trade Union, and the families of the graduates.
The presence of these stakeholders underscored the importance of the program in developing the next generation of construction project leaders in Ethiopia.
This milestone reflects ECC’s broader vision of equipping professionals with the skills and experience necessary to transform Ethiopia’s construction industry and compete effectively on the international stage.

Field Marshal Birhanu Jula Plants Saplings in National Green Legacy Campaign at Corporation Project Site

The Chief of General Staff of the Ethiopian National Defense Force (ENDF), Field Marshal Birhanu Jula, planted saplings at the headquarters of the Special Operations Command Head Quarter under the motto “Renewal through planting” as part of the 7th round of the national Green Legacy campaign, which aims to plant 700 million seedlings across the country in a single day. The site, currently under construction, is being constructed by the Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation (ECWC).
Lieutenant General Shuma Abdeta, Commander of the Special Operations Command, praised the corporation for its exemplary contributions to the construction sector and highlighted its commitment to green construction practices.
Engineer Yonas Ayalew, Chief Executive Officer of the Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation, noted that the corporation strictly adheres to green construction principles from design to execution in its projects and industrial operations.
Corporation, on the right track to achieve its excellence strategy

Leaders of the Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation (ECWC) reviewed the performance of projects in the 2017EFY.
In their review, it was stated that the reform activities implemented by the Corporation and the proper management of projects contributed significantly to the outstanding performance recorded.
In addition, it was evaluated that the 2017 fiscal year’s performance will enable the Corporation to achieve the excellence journey goals set in the coming years, in line with the Corporation’s strategic plan.

Deputy Speaker Visits Parliamentary Housing Project, Praises Early Progress

Members of the House of People’s Representatives (HoPR), led by Deputy Speaker Honorable Mrs. Lomi Bedo, conducted an official visit to the ongoing construction site of the Housing Association of HoPR.
During the visit, the delegation expressed their appreciation to the Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation (ECC) for its commitment to completing the project ahead of schedule. They commended the Corporation’s round-the-clock efforts and praised its efficient project execution.
The officials highlighted that the housing initiative is a significant step toward enabling members of parliament to become homeowners. They also acknowledged the Corporation's collaborative approach with key local stakeholders, including farmers, woreda and sub-city administrations, the consulting firm, and the housing association committee.
CEO of ECC Engineer Yonas Ayalew briefed the delegation on the scope and progress of the project. He stated that construction is being carried out with a strong emphasis on quality, supported by a structured approach involving dedicated units for project management, finance, resource provision, quality control, monitoring, and support.
The housing project comprises ten 9-story buildings and carries a contract value of over 2.4 billion birr. It is slated for completion within a year an ambitious timeline that reflects the Corporation’s commitment to delivering results with speed and precision.
At the conclusion of the visit, the delegation led by Honorable Mrs. Lomi Bedo, planted saplings near the construction site as part of Ethiopia’s green legacy initiative. They also hosted a luncheon to show appreciation and encouragement to the employees involved in the project.
